Be Alert - Bears!

Bears have been spotted throughout the Village so far this season. There seems to be a concentration of sightings at the top off Beacon Hill Road. Please be careful when walking with pets/children. Do not leave garage doors open. Do not store bird seed, dog or cat foot on deck or patio. Do not put garbage out the night before pick up. Bears causing a problem should be reported to the West Milford Police and/or Animal Control.

Painting of storm doors

Residents are reminded that the Village does not paint their storm doors, which are owned by and the responsibility of each unit owner. Many doors are fading and will receive letters requesting they paint their doors. The Board discussed adding storm doors to the yearly paint schedule; the cost of this is not yet determined.

Unit owners can purchase the correct paint at Stegle hardware in town. Just ask for "Bald Eagle Green". The color can also be purchased at other stores; please contact the office for the correct color to ask for.

Highlights of April Board Meeting

Discussed the many areas damaged during the winter storms. Management and the Grounds Committee completed a Village-wide inspection. They have asked the landscaper for proposals to address problem areas. These proposals will be evaluated for need against their cost and will be discussed at the May Board meeting.

Discussed how we will address watering plantings if the township ordinance limiting watering is adopted.

MUA Sewer Plant Work

The West Milford MUA in conjunction with the NJ DEP Environmental Infrastructure Project will be replacing a sewage storage tank in one of the barns at the plant on the corner of Beacon Hill and New Bedford Road. This will require a temporary tank to be installed outside the barns while the old tank is dismantled and then a new tank is brought in. This work is anticipated to be completed by mid-June. Should you have any questions please call the MUA at 973-728-2711.
